Safety & standards

Where safety glass is required — shelving in reach, glazed doors, low-level panes — we supply glass toughened to BS EN 12150, which breaks into small, blunt granules rather than sharp pieces. Note that toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after toughening, so all machining is completed first; for this reason accurate sizes are essential. We can also supply laminated glass where required, and all work is handled by trained, fully insured staff.

Can you cut toughened glass to size?

We supply glass toughened to your size — but toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after the toughening process, so all sizes and holes must be confirmed before manufacture. We cut float and other annealed glass to size directly.

Can you polish the edges?

Yes — we offer arrissed, flat-polished, pencil-round and bevelled edges to suit the use and look you want.

Can you drill holes in glass?

Yes, we drill holes and machine cut-outs for fixings, brackets, sockets and fittings, completed before any toughening.

What thickness do I need for a shelf?
